Capybara 3D Prints: Why the Internet's Favorite Animal Is Everywhere Right Now

Which printer to use

A capybara figure is small with no real structural demands — any decent FDM printer handles it. If you want a multi-color version (patchy fur look) without manual filament swaps, an AMS-equipped printer makes it effortless:

• Bambu Lab A1 — fast, great detail for miniatures like this one
• AMS 2 Pro — if you already own a Bambu Lab printer without AMS, this upgrade lets you print a multi-color capybara in a single pass

Print settings that work well

• Layer height: 0.12–0.16mm to capture fur and facial detail
• Supports: only under real overhangs (belly, chin) — most print-in-place designs are already optimized to need little or none
• Infill: 10–15% is plenty for a decorative piece
• Filament: PLA is the right call here — easy to print, good color, no need for a hot bed. A solid option is Bambu Lab's own PLA Lite.
